Hafdis, Alisdair Wright and I went to BAFTA last night, home of talented film makers, for a cast & crew screening of the new film of The Borrowers made by Working Title Productions. Hafdis sang and Alisdair produced the title track, a beautiful and delicate version of ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’ which sounded absolutely lovely and fitted so well over the title credits. The film has its TV debut on BBC1 on Boxing Day at 7pm and I thoroughly recommend it for happy family viewing. The story has been updated very well for a modern audience and there are some great humorous touches in the film that will make it ring true for all teenagers and their parents.
And of course we couldn’t resist the opportunity for a photo with the iconic BAFTA face …..
Jake and the hugely talented John Parker played a private gig at the Paramount Club on the 32nd floor of London’s Centre Point. It was a very clear night so the views from the glass walled bar were astounding on both sides – Oxford Street all lit up with Christmas lights on one side, and a view all the way from St Paul’s down to the London Eye on the other. I tried to capture the view on my phone, but it turned out pretty rubbish but you’ll get an idea of the view.
Hafdis arrived in the UK this week to meet up with some other songwriters, to co-write some tracks for the new album as well as write for some other artists. On her first morning in London, she dropped into the BBC to record an interview with Chris Hawkins for his 6Music show. The interview will be broadcast on Friday 25th Nov.
Jake Morley’s current single, Freddie Laid the Smackdown, is being championed by 6Music DJ Chris Hawkins (thank you Chris!). Here’s the video:
Here’s the brand new Hafdis video, created by the very talented Alisdair Wright; it’s being screened in a Top Shop near you throughout November.
